What is a zine?
A zine (short for fanzine) is an anthology of artworks and written pieces. This one will focus on the totally completely real, greatest mafia movie ever made, Goncharov (1973).How will the zine be distributed?
This will be a free digital zine. It will be published for PDF download.How many people will be accepted?
Based on our interest check, we will decide how selective applications will be. This is a relatively low stakes zine, we are more interested to involve as many creators as possible.Will I be able to post my piece on my socials?
Yes, but only after the zine has been published! Creators retain all rights to their work.What sort of works will be included?
Primarily artworks, SFW fanfic, and film analysis. We are open to other art mediums and types of writing too! If you have a specific idea of something you might like to create for the zine, let us know in the interest check.

Contributor Applications
Want to join the team? Go ahead and apply! But first, make sure you read the following info:
Contributor roles
You can apply for writer, page-artist, or beta-reader.
Everything is in one form, so you can easily apply for multiple roles. However, please note you will only be accepted for one role.
All applicants will be notified by email if their application is successful, and which role they are accepted for.
To streamline the creation process, we ask for your artist/author name, bio, socials and a pitch on the application form. Please fill these out if possible, but you will have the option to submit or edit them later if accepted as a contributor.
You will need a discord account to participate in the zine as we use this for announcements and updates.
Portfolios/sample work
Your sample work does not have to be Goncharov related
We will feature most types of art and writing in the zine. Including (but not limited to) illustration, comics, SFW fic, poetry, film analysis/essays/critique, fake media articles, and ‘out-of-universe’ essays. For your portfolio/sample work, please submit pieces that best represent the type content you wish to create for the zine.
Free digital merch
The form will also ask you whether you want to contribute to digital merch. We are planning to release free downloadable backgrounds, icons, printable bookmarks and printable minizines. The merch will primarily feature pieces from the zine.
If you choose to contribute to the merch we will contact you during the creation period to organize this. The amount/types of merch we make will depend on how many contributors are interested.
[Artists] Backgrounds, icons and printable bookmarks would use your zine piece/a modified version of the piece to fit dimensions. You may also create a second piece specifically for merch if you wish.
[Writers] Printable bookmarks would include a quote from your zine piece to go with the artwork on the reverse.
[Artists and Writers] We are also planning to make limited run printable minizines, a folded A7 booklet curated from the zine pieces based on a theme or character. These will feature artworks and quotes/small sections of writing. It will be 6 pages plus the cover and credit page.
Extra: cover artist, pinch-hitters
Artists have the option to apply for the cover artist position.
If applying as a pinch-hitter artist or writer, please consider whether you will be able to produce a piece in less than a month.
